My favorite new game is Peek a boo or in bahasa Indonesia Ciluk Ba. Daniel loves to play this game. He is now able to shout the word Ba whenever I said Ciluk ……

Thank God for trusting us with beautiful children!

My daughter’s conversation with Yahua today ;

Daya : Yahua, happy birthday yah….

Yahua : thanks Daya, where are you?

Daya ( soft voice and sounds tired ) : in the car, I cannot talk loudly because Daniel is sleeping. Do you want anything for your birthday?

Yahua : I want lipstick

Daya (suddenly looks so excited and sound excited ) : OK, what color?

Yahua : Lip color not pink

Daya : OK, then I will wait until ama licu and Yana come, then I will take them for shopping and buy you the lipstick. Yahua do you know I have 25 Ringgit now?

Yahua : really, what are you going to do with the money?

Daya : I am sending it to World Vision. Do you know there are 11 million children died every year before they turned 5?

Yahua : I don’t know Daya, how do you know?

Daya : I watched the ad everyday on TV

I am really touched. My daughter really cares for other. She has the natural empathy, I don’t need to teach her that. I am proud of Daya.

Thank God for my beautiful family!

Daya : Mom, why are there bad people in the world?

Me : Actually God created all people good, but some people choose to be bad, just like you sometime become a bit naughty right?

Daya : Yes… I know sometimes I am naughty

Me : Why Daya?

Daya : I want to pray to God now

Me : go ahead

Daya : Dear God, please make everybody into good people so the POLICEMEN do not need to work too hard. So the POLICEMEN can play with their family

Daya – 6 Years

Posted by: ratnayeni on: November 16, 2008

My daughter is 6 years old today! goosh, time really flies!

I still remember the day you are born, holding you in my arm whilst tears streaming down on my cheek, sending silent prayer to thank God for His Blessing

I still remember the joy you bring to us, we could hardly sleep, we take every moment we have to stare at you, kissing your cheek, ear, hand, feet, head …. you smell great

You have grown into a very polite young lady. Sensitive to others. Helpful. Witty. Cheeky.

I wish you a Happy Birthday, may all your wishes come true and remember no matter what me and Papa love you so much!!!!

Thanks Daya for bringing happiness to our life.

p.s : sorry for all my “yelling and screaming” sessions – I love u

Daniel – 6 Months

Posted by: ratnayeni on: October 17, 2008

Wow, my boy is now 6 months!

  1. He started his first solid food on 12 October 2008 – rice cereal. It was an amazing experience. He chow down the rice cereal without any fuss. He really enjoy it and I am more than happy! Yesterday I mixed the cereal with carrot puree and again no problemo.
  2. Every morning when he wakes up, he will start talking in some foreign language and if I do not respond, he will start kicking me with his tiny feet or pull my hair!
  3. He enjoys taking bath, whenever I carry him into the bathroom he will turn his head to the dressing table mirror and smile, that’s just cute. Later when I put him inside the tub, he will wait unpatiently for me to pour the water and once he can feel the water, he will start kicking the water and laugh.
  4. Getting him change is also another struggle, sometimes I have to pin him down and dress him as quickly as I can.
  5. He knows that everytime I put him at the car seat it means “kia kia” a.k.a. out and about.
  6. He likes to look at his sister and always smile or laugh everytime she talks to him.
  7. He already fall down from the mattress like more than 5 times… ouch…. now I put him on the playpen
  8. he likes handphone, remote controls and keys.

Happy 6 months Daniel – I love you – GBU

Travelling with Children

Posted by: ratnayeni on: October 12, 2008

I just had a tiring travel experience … yesterday our flight from Jakarta to KL was delayed for 3.5 hours due to technical problems ( whatever that means!). I travelled with 2 children ( 6 years and 5 months), one baby bag that weigh more than 7 kg and 1 trunki. On top of that I also got 3 checked in baggage. Arrived in KL at about 00.45, fill the immigration form, queue at the immigration and here come the hardest part, unloading my 3 checked in baggage from the conveyor belt while carrying the 5 months old. Surprisingly not a single soul that wait for their baggage offered their help :( luckily I managed to get the strength of Xena at those hour :)

I really grateful that I bought the Ergo Baby Carrier and the Allerhand Baby Bag. They are really a life saver. Daniel can sleep comfortably on the carrier and all the baby stuff can fit inside the baby bag just nicely.

Things I carry inside the baby bag for my short 2 hours flights are :

  • 2 set of clean clothing for Daniel
  • 1 T-shirt for Daya
  • 1 blanket
  • 1 muslin
  • 3  pcs of disposable diapers
  • Rattle and pacifier
  • 1 pack of wet tissues
  • 1 pack of plastic bag for used diapers
  • Diaper cream
  • Book for my reading pleasure
  • House key, car key
  • Passport and pen
  • 2 wallet ( 1 for Ringgit currency, 1 for other currency)
  • My ibook
See… such a tough baby bag right!
